Case Study: Concealed Sliding Door Automation at Bishops Avenue Residential Home, London
Client Objective
The client sought to create a striking and sophisticated entrance for a high-end residential home on Bishops Avenue, London. The design intent was to combine luxury aesthetics with seamless functionality, ensuring the entrance not only made a strong visual statement but also provided effortless access for residents and visitors.
Project Challenge
The entrance design featured bespoke walnut-veneered aluminium sliding doors, complemented by surrounding glazed panels manufactured by Master Joiners SGL. While visually impressive, this specification introduced several challenges:
• Maintaining the clean, uninterrupted aesthetic of the timber veneer finish
• Ensuring all automation components were fully concealed
• Integrating modern access technology without detracting from the architectural statement
• Delivering smooth, reliable operation suitable for a residential environment
The key requirement was to provide a fully automated sliding door system that remained completely hidden from view.
Solution
Franchi Automation was appointed to deliver a discreet and high-performance sliding door solution tailored to the project’s unique design requirements.
To achieve complete concealment, bespoke hydraulic access panels were engineered specifically for this installation. These panels allowed access to the automation system for maintenance purposes, while ensuring that no visible components disrupted the refined entrance design.
